PRE-REGISTRATION FORM (REQUIRED):
Dave Nunes, owner and founder of Ironworks Gym, has a soft spot for youth members. You don’t need to be an athlete to join and participate in our YOUTH INTRO TO WEIGHTLIFTING program. This program is designed specifically for kids ages (mature) 12 – 18+. These kids will learn everything there is to know about training in a gym. Youth Weightlifting will be small group classes (approx. 8-10 participants per class). This small class size is crucial to ensure each participant gets the attention they need and deserve.
There are three Youth Weightlifting groups; BEGINNER, INTERMIDATE & ADVANCED. There will be an evaluation on day 1 to fully assess where the participant needs to start. Each participant will be placed in an appropriate group and program. Participants will move up to the next level only when Dave knows that the individual has earned, learned and demonstrated that they are ready to advance.
There will be class room work and assignments. Participants must learn the six basic muscle groups and fundamental biomechanics. We will touch on the importance of nutrition as it is a huge part of any training program. Participants also must complete and pass this part of the program before advancing. Dave is a stickler and will ensure participants fully understand and are able to execute these practices each and every time they set foot in a gym. Participants will understand the gym is not a playground and will take training seriously.
Participants will learn the following; CHECK EGO AT THE FRONT DESK, PROPER GYM ETIQUETTE, SAFTEY, PROPER BREATHING, PROPER FORM, HOW TO SPOT A FELLOW GYM GOER (which is crucial).
This is by far the most valuable program for any youth who plans on lifting weights in any setting. Mom and Dad will get relief knowing that their child has gone through extensive training, were taught by the best and most importantly to be SAFE!
